Viva Viagem card was concepted for who not use transportation all days. This card can be charged at all Carris sell points, or at the blue machines at the subway entrance. You can charge on it just simple trips, or an amount money (called zapping mode). This second option permits you to travel in Carris, subway or boats to cross Tejo river. Each time you use one of this ways of transportation, the correpondent ticket fare is discount on the amount of money on the card. The card is valid during one year. A new can be obtained in many places. The best ones are at the blue machines on subway. It has a cost of 0,50 €. When you buy a single ticket it comes with.
Lisboa Viva card is used for recharging the monthly tickets, and could be used as well with zapping chargement. This card is personalized, and can be used only for the owner. The portuguese train company (CP) has a network that covers the major- ity portuguese towns. The five main lines take you to Sintra, Azambuja, Cascais, Sado and Porto/Aveiro. Tick- ets can be bought at the ticket stores or in automatic machines. It is really important that you travel with a tick- et, because the fine is really high. Santa Apolonia’s station is the start- ing point when you are heading to another international destination or to the North. Trains leaving Rossio’s station go to Sintra, but the one’s leaving to Cascais and Estoril depart from Cais do Sodré. Fertagus makes the connection be- tween the two sides of the river, go- ing through the 25 de Abril’s bridge. You also have night trains depart- ing from 4.30h to Cascais, Sintra and Azambuja.

Lisbon has several routes and options for transportation at night. Night Buses work on Fridays, Saturdays and the days before holidays, from 22h to 5h in the morning. Bus route 1 and 2 are free charge in this schedule. In the same days, working from about midnight to 4 o’clock in the morning, you have the buses Rede da Madru- gada. There are trains available at Saturdays, Sundays and holidays, at 4.30h to Cascais, Sintra or Azambuja. Glo- ria’s Tram (ascensor da Gloria) works until 4.30h at Fridays, Saturdays and the day before an holiday. Transtejo and Softlusa have a special service at 4.30h that takes you to Cacilhas and Barreiro every Saturday, Sunday, and holiday.
